| The
photo shows the deck of certified Brazilian Massaranduba, filmed
in GMTV’s recent “Hand over your House” make-over programme of
an Epsom house. It grows in several areas of Central and South
America, is very durable making it highly suitable for decking
without the need for treatment, providing a maintenance-free
deck. It has an attractive, dark reddish almost plum colour, not
unlike walnut, and being so heavy gives a very solid feeling
underfoot. With the increased interest in outdoor decking, The
Timber Centre carries a range of hardwood and softwood decking
for terraces, raised decks, pathways, barbecue areas and
conservatories. Massaranduba, being highly resistant to shock,
will withstand high traffic and its ease of machining and good
surface meant that GMTV’s team were able to install the deck
quickly, leaving them time for the rest of the project to be
completed within the very tight filming schedule. |
